The clear difference is level of service. Most discount brokers are not there for you 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Many successful Realtors make appointments for the next day and continue to negotiate contracts into the early evening after being out with clients all day - discount brokers who are not open, don't have an operator or paging system may put your home in jeopardy of being successfully shown or sold. Many discount brokers are not available to negotiate your contract after 7pm. Think about it ... when do most sellers have time in their day??? After their own work day is done, which is usually in the evenings. Many discount brokers don't use the standard lockbox system which makes your home difficult to show thereby cutting down on traffic. Many discount brokers are new to the business. With the boom of real estate in the Tampa Bay area, many low service, discount firms have popped up to make the quick buck. This means there are a lot of new agents without a great deal of experience representing what is likely your largest and most important asset.
