 Wiregrass

Wiregrass Ranch, one of New Tampa - Pasco County's recently announced planned residential developments, will consist of 5,000 acres from Route 56 where it intersects Bruce B. Downs Boulevard north to Route 54 in Wesley Chapel.

While still in the throes of planning permission, two retail centers have been approved which will sit the North and West entrances to Wiregrass. The West retail center featuring a brandnew JCPenney Department Store is completed, while the other North retail center is still in the planning stages. Pulte Home Corp. has been designated as one of the first builders in Wiregrass Ranch and they intend to create a "neighborhood feel" featuring homes with front porches, rear alleys and detached garages. Pulte Home Corp. also intends to build a separate active adult community with a golf course within the Wiregrass Ranch subdivision. All in all, Pulte will build approximately 1,999 homes, ¼ of the proposed development of Wiregrass Ranch. To accommodate the ever growing need for schools, Pasco County School System has agreed to purchase 3 sites for future elementary schools within the Wiregrass Ranch subdivision. Additionally, there are proposals for a public tennis stadium and a new Pasco-Hernando hospital also on the site.
